My journey in medicine started at a young age. The oldest of 10 children, I have known I wanted to be a doctor since the age of 6 and never wavered from that dream. I was born in McAlester Oklahoma, attending public school there until moving to Stigler OK where I graduated from high school. After high school, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Biology from East Central University. Afterward, I applied and was accepted into the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine. My experiences in medical school eventually led me to attend the family medicine residency training program at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Tyler, Texas. I am a board-certified family medicine physician who has practiced for over 10 years.
When I am not taking care of my patients, I am a devoted family man. I have been married to my wife of 14 years, Courtney, who is a local business owner; we are kept busy by our two young sons, Hunter and Colton, along with our two dogs, Rex and Chloe. We enjoy spending quality time together hunting, fishing, hiking, and hanging out at the lake.

I attended and graduated from medical school at UNT health Sciences Center in Fort Worth Texas. I was a member of their Rural track geared towards additional training for those who wished to practice in rural areas. I ultimately ended up in McAlester after graduating the OSU Family Medicine Program.
Growing up in Iowa, I have always known I wanted to live in a small town and offer a wide spectrum of services for all ages because I love to see the whole family. I enjoy complex cases where I get to work out a puzzle as well as the day to day routine visits.
When I am not at work, I enjoy hunting, running and doing chores on our small acreage. We have guineas, chickens, and several Texas Longhorns.

I was born in Northeast Texas to a middle class hard working family who owned their own business. I learned the value of hard work and dedication at a young age. I am a Veteran of the United States Air Force and was a military medic until I went to medical school at Rocky Vista University. I continued my residency here in McAlester and fell in love with this small town. Kay Lynn and I have a large family. We have six kids between us (Caleb, Andrew, Lila, Skylar, Sabrina and Kyle) and three grandkids (Sam, Hazel and Raidyn).
We enjoy our small farm life and family gatherings. We are an avid outdoor family who enjoys hunting, fishing, and camping.
